Development Policies
This page contains many common development-related policies from the Planning Director, Planning Commission, and City Council. For a complete listing of City Council policies, please access the Council Policy Manual on the City's Clerk's website (Note: policies related to planning and zoning are contained in section 6).

Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC)
The State of California regulates land use surrounding airports through local Airport Land Use Commissions (ALUC). In Santa Clara County, the ALUC prepares the land use plans surrounding each of the airports in the county and reviews certain development applications. There are two airports in San José, Mineta San José International Airport and Reid-Hillview Airport. Each of the airports has its own adopted land use plan that should be reviewed in preparing development plans. See the adopted airport land use plans on the County of Santa Clara's Airport Land Use Commission page.
