    This holiday season, the Environmental Services Department is sponsoring Environmental Way at Christmas in the Park in Downtown San José. Environmental Way includes displays showing Santa and his elves taking simple green actions during the holidays. Visit the displays to see how you can reduce waste, save resources, be Climate Smart, and get on Santa's good list. Environmental Way at Christmas in the Park opens Friday, November 29 and runs through Sunday, January 5 from 9:00 a.m. to midnight

  2. Optoutside Creek Cleanup in San José

    This Black Friday, Opt to Act: #OptOutside and volunteer for a creek cleanup with San José Environmental Services and our partners REI and the South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition. This year when we #OptOutside, we Opt to Act. Along with other organizations across the nation on Black Friday, we are hosting a cool clean up of a local creek in San José. Let's leave the world better than we found it. Join the City of San José Environmental Services Department and South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition in partnership with REI to clean up Los Gatos Creek picking up trash and debris. Come join in on the fun!"

    The City of San Jose is inviting the public to participant in the General Plan 4-Year review cycle. Six meetings will be held from November 20, 2019 through April 8, 2020. This meeting is regarding the background of the 4-year review process and an overview of Urban Villages.

  2. Proposed ADU Zoning Updates, Community Meeting, Project# PP19-080

    November 20, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

    File No. PP19-080: A proposed ordinance of the City of San José amending various sections of Title 20 (Zoning Ordinance or Zoning Code) of the San José Municipal Code to change provisions for Secondary Units (Accessory Dwelling Units, ADU) to align with new California State Law requirements. The proposed considerations may include the following: (a) Propose new Part 4.5 “Accessory Dwelling Units,” and modify ADU provisions for Single-Family Dwelling Units, including new lot size and unit size requirements, allow Junior Accessory Dwelling Units, and allow ADUs in Two-Family/ Multi-Family Dwelling Units (b) Amend ADU parking requirements (c) Add clarifying language to Accessory Dwelling Unit definition, and add new definition of Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit.
