  1. Upcoming Ellis Act Ordinance Community Meeting

    The Ellis Act Ordinance applies when a landlord or developer plans to demolish or remove rent stabilized apartments from the rental market. This ordinance requires 50% of new apartments built on the site of previously rent stabilized apartments be subject to the Apartment Rent Ordinance. On February 5, 2019, City Council asked staff to research the effects of this re-control provision on development.

    Project File Nos. GP18-014, PDC18-037, PD19-019, & PT19-023 General Plan Amendment to change the Land Use Designation from RN Residential Neighborhood to UR Urban Residential; a Planned Development Rezoning from the A(PD) Planned Development Zoning District to the R-M(PD) Planned Development Zoning District; a Planned Development Permit to allow a mobile home park conversion and the construction of 688 residential units; and a Vesting Tentative Map to subdivide from 1 lot to 64 lots on an approximately 15.69-gross acre site. Purpose: To describe the proposed project, planning process, and obtain community input on the project. Additionally, this meeting is conducted in partnership with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services to gain feedback on the future park included in this project. This will be the first of three park design community meetings and will be focused on recreational opportunities and site constraints.

  1. Senter Road Vision Zero Safety Study

    The City of San Jose wants your input to help make Senter Road, from Tully Road to Monterey Road, a safer place to travel. Over the next eight months, the City will work with the community and local organizations on a study that will focus on increasing safety and comfort for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and drivers traveling on Senter Road.
