GoogleServe at San José Parks

During the month of June, 550 Google employees volunteered at seven city parks, including Brooktree Park, Columbus Park, Emma Prusch Farm Park, Fowler Creek Park, Murdock Park, Parma Park, San José Municipal Rose Garden and Almaden Community Center. Googlers spent 1,650 hours weeding, chipping, shaping and raking which left the parks and center with a cleaner, more polished ambience. Park users shared their thanks with the volunteers for the hard work, valued at $47K. As a national leader in quality parks and recreation, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services continues to engage Silicon Valley corporations to build healthy relationships with the community and to BeautifySJ. For more information, please contact Justin Long, PRNS Deputy Director, at 408-793-5579.
